Revision rhinoplasty is a procedure aim to correct cosmetic deformities in patients that are often unhappy with their prior surgery because this first surgery was not successful in completely correcting the problem but also for patients who continue to have difficulty breathing problems or congestion. Revision rhinoplasty is a much more difficult procedure than the first rhinoplasty due to the change of anatomical plans and the presence of missing tissues.
The success of surgery, correction of physiological functions, as well as the diagnosis and correction of the problems that have occurred in the nose is one of the points to be considered. A revision rhinoplasty is a much more difficult procedure as scar tissue from prior rhinoplasty is often an issue in revision cases and can limit the final outcome since it may recur even after successful revision rhinoplasty. Also, revision rhinoplasty often requires the use of cartilage to replace damaged and/or deficient cartilage removed in the prior surgery.
